What BestPlaces Users Say about Baldwinsville

Baldwinsville, located in upstate New York, is a small village with a population of around 7,000. It is known for its charming downtown area, local farms, and the scenic Seneca River. It offers a suburban feel while still being close to larger cities like Syracuse and Rochester. In this context, let's take a look at what real users have to say about living in Baldwinsville.

According to John, who has been living in Baldwinsville for over 20 years, the village has a strong sense of community and a great school system. He says, "I have raised my children here and I couldn't be happier with the education they received. The people here are friendly and always willing to lend a helping hand." This highlights the family-friendly aspect of the village and the positive attitudes of its residents.

On the other hand, Amanda, who moved to Baldwinsville a year ago, shares that she loves the small-town vibe but finds it lacking in entertainment options. She says, "There are a few good restaurants and bars, but if you're looking for a lively nightlife, this may not be the place for you. However, the natural beauty and peacefulness make up for it." This suggests that the village may not be the best fit for young adults looking for an active social scene.

Another user, Sarah, praises the affordable cost of living in Baldwinsville. She mentions, "Compared to living in the city, the cost of living here is very reasonable. Plus, you get to enjoy the perks of a small town without breaking the bank." This statement highlights the appeal of the village for those looking to save money without sacrificing quality of life.

However, not all reviews are positive. Mark, who has recently moved out of Baldwinsville, complains about the harsh winters and lack of diversity. He says, "The winters here are brutal and the lack of diversity can make it feel isolating at times. I loved the community feel, but ultimately decided to move to a more diverse and warmer location." This review sheds light on potential drawbacks that some may face while living in Baldwinsville.

Overall, the user reviews about living in Baldwinsville are mostly positive, highlighting the strong community, good schools, and affordable cost of living. However, some have expressed concerns about entertainment options and the weather. It is important to weigh the pros and cons before making a decision to relocate to this charming village in upstate New York.

A nice place to raise a family - 11/28/2014
Baldwinsville is a medium sized village with a rich history on the banks of the Seneca River / Erie Canal. There are several community festivals throughout the year, and summer concerts at the amphitheater by the river.  Read More

Home cost is great Taxes are not so great - 11/1/2007
Taxes here are incredible, they have not found a tax they don't like. A 300,000 home tax bill is just shy of a 1,000 a month. That was a huge surprise as I went to closing. My escrow was almost as high as my house payment.  Read More

Nice little village - 1/18/2007
First a little about me. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. I joined the Army at the age of 21 and spent 7 years in it. I moved here in the summer of 2005 from Henderson, Nevada. Before that I lived in Giebelstadt, Germany and before that Clarksville, Tennessee.

Baldwinsville is a quaint little community located along the Senneca River just northwest of Syracuse. The school system is great and the village is an active communtiy that has several different festivals through out the year including a summer concert series held on Paper Mill Island, which is the site of a real amphitheater.

The only real draw back is that the area is developing quickly. I've only lived here for a year and a half and I already notice an increase in traffic.

Overall I am really pleased with the area and consider it a much nicer area then Las Vegas and Henderson. Oh and one neat thing about CNY is that it has a supprisingly large wine industry, Read More
